Yes. WriteSense uses macOS Accessibility APIs to read and replace selected text system-wide. It works in Safari, Mail, Slack, Notion, VS Code, Terminal, and any other app where you can select text.
Only if you choose a cloud-based backend (OpenAI BYOK or WriteSense Cloud). If you select Apple Intelligence, all processing happens on your device and nothing is sent anywhere. Your OpenAI API key is stored in the macOS Keychain.
WriteSense requires macOS 15 (Sequoia) or later. The Apple Intelligence backend requires macOS 26+ with Apple Intelligence enabled on an Apple Silicon Mac.
